Benefits of De Oiled Rice Bran

  • De-oiled Rice Bran (DORB) is derived when crude oil is extracted from rice bran.
  • DORB is commonly used in the production of animal nutrition products catering to cattle, poultry, horse, pet care, aquaculture (aquafeed), and swine industries.
  • Is high in vitamin B and goes well for agricultural animals.
  • Has a noticeable softening action on animal body fat and the butterfat content in milk.
  • The absence of gluten and other allergic substances makes it an excellent feed for sensitive species and certain animal groups.

The de-oiled copra manufacturing process

Step 1

First, dried copra is crushed, flaked, and boiled to remove the moisture.

Step 2

Employing an expeller device, the oil is mechanically removed from the flakes, yielding a virtually colourless oil and a copra cake comprising trace amounts of oil content.

Step 3

This copra cake is either pelletized or utilised as an animal feed product.
