Crude Rice Bran Oil

The inner husk and germ of whole brown rice are used to obtain Crude rice bran oil

In numerous Asian nations, such as Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, China, and Thailand, this healthy oil is commonly used as a culinary oil.

The physical pressing technique for extracting crude oil from rice bran is preferred over the mechanical pressing method. However, we employ both extraction methods.

Crude rice bran oil is obtained from both solvent extraction and physical pressing, and it is usually distilled to eliminate hazardous contaminants before getting sold on the market.

Benefits of Crude Rice Bran Oil

  • High-quality oil with a long shelf life
  • Contains an optimum balance of fatty acids and a wealth of antioxidants.
  • Low viscosity and a high smoke point
  • Contains no carbohydrates
  • Heart-healthy: Rich in monounsaturated fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids, which help in raising HDL (good) cholesterol levels and reducing LDL (bad) cholesterol.

5-step crude rice bran oil extraction process

Step 1

Air separator

The quality and quantity of bran received from various rice mills varies and requires testing. Particles, hulls and threads, iron particles, and other contaminants are removed from the bran. This is achieved using an air separator and a magnetic separator that eliminates impurities and particulates that may impact the oil quality.

Step 2

Steam cooking and drying

The cleansed bran has some moisture content and hence requires to be conditioned to be palettised. The bran is fed into the conditioner, where it is agitated and combined with high-temperature steam to get the best palletisation range. The bran is then machine dried.

Step 3

Solvent extraction

Crude rice bran oil is chemically extracted with a solvent at this stage. In this process, the bran is first totally stabilised and then transferred to an extraction zone, where the oil is extracted. This yields two products: high-quality crude rice bran oil and defatted rice bran.

Step 4

Distillation

The final phase in the crude oil extraction process is distillation, which removes any remaining unpleasant tastes and free fatty acids from the oil.

Step 5

Finally

Once thoroughly treated, the crude rice bran oil is ready to be packaged.

Food & Bakery Applications: For the manufacture of Breakfast cereals, Bakery applications, etc.
Animal feed
  • Grades P1 and P2.
  • A moderate protein, high energy feed ingredient for the animal feed industry, particularly used for the increased rate of growth of young animals.
  • Grades F1 and F2.
  • Used as high fibre ingredient for cattle and livestock feed.
  • Ideal for feeding animals with colic problems, since the fibre content acts as a medicine.
Organic fertilizer
  • DORB-all grades
  • can be used as growth promoters for plants.
  • can also be used as ingredients in organic fertilizers due to it organic content, and its ability to ferment organic particles in the soil.
