Vaighai Agro received the SEA Award for “Highest Rice Bran Processor in India” for the third consecutive year at the 25th at the SEA Annual Awards Ceremony that was held at Hotel Renaissance, Mumbai, India.

The award was presented to Mr. V. Neethi Mohan, Chairman & Managing Director of Vaighai Agro Products Limited by
Hon. Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Shri. K.V. Thomas.

Vaighai has a vision to become the largest processor of Rice bran in the world and it is planning to expand its activities in Asia by setting-up manufacturing facilities in Indonesia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka by 2012. The future plans include setting up plants in Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines.

SRI LANKA
Vaighai Lanka Private Limited the overseas division of Vaighai Agro Products Limited. Since 2004, Vaighai Lanka procures rice bran from over 300 rice mills located all over the Island. This procurement division at Sri Lanka gives Vaighai Agro a major edge over its competitors in terms of uninterrupted bran supply to its rice bran extraction units in India. Vaighai Lanka has received the Gold Award in the Export of Agriculture Bulk Sector, Large Industry category during the NCE Exports Awards 2010.

The award was presented to Mr. V. Neethi Mohan, Chairman & Managing Director of Vaighai Lanka Pvt Ltd by Daily News Chairman Mr. Bandula Padmakumara in the presence of Honorable Minister Basil Rajapaksa – Minister for Economic Development, Sri Lanka at Hilton, Colombo on 16th September 2011.

2009to2010

Vaighai Agro Products Limited, which manufactures Rice Bran Oil for the past three decades, received the SEA Award for “Highest Rice Bran Processor in India” for the second consecutive year at the 24th at the SEA Annual Awards Ceremony that was held at Hotel Leela Kempinski, Mumbai, India.

The award was presented to Mr. V. Neethi Mohan, Chairman & Managing Director of Vaighai Agro Products Limited by Hon. Minister of State for Agriculture, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Shri. K.V. Thomas and Mr. Tan Sri Bernard, Hon. Minister of Plantation Industry, Govt. of Malaysia.

2008to2009

VAIGHAI AGRO, received the award for “HIGHEST PROCESSORS OF RICE BRAN” in India from SEA (SOLVENT EXTRACTORS ASSOCIATION) the prime body that represents the Solvent Extractors in India. The company processed 1,38,500 MT of Rice Bran during the year 2008–2009.

VAIGHAI is the 1st company in Tamil Nadu to receive this award. Vaighai Agro has three plants located in Madurai, Tirunelveli and Namakkal. The company procures Rice Bran from around 800 rice mills in Tamil Nadu. Vaighai also imports Rice Bran from Sri Lanka.

India’s edible oil consumption is 11 million MT per annum. 50% of this requirement is being met through imports. Rice Bran Oil is a major import substitution for edible oil.

The SEA also gave awards for highest processors & exporters of other edible oil.
